Costa Rica Tourist Attractions

I was in Costa Rica for a year, I traveled all of it and stayed in every place-from big hotels to small cabins. Here is my experience about the attractions of Costa Rica that are worth visit.

Let's start with he volcanoes. Irazu is the highest volcano in Costa Rica and Arenal is the most active one. This particular volcano has the second widest crater in the world with the diameter being one and a half kilometers. There is also the Arenal Volcano, the only volcano in Costa Rica that's constantly active, and the Poas, a stratovolcano with several eroded calderas, cones, and two crater lakes at or near its summit.

The National Parks. Costa Rica has been known for its natural environment and the diversity of the bio-life there. Choose between Poas Volcano National Park, Palo Verde National Park, Cahuita National Park and Arenal Volcano National Park. Try and go hiking on one of the many amazing trails in Costa Rica. I hope you are fit! Hike a rainforest, near a volcano or along the coast. Nearly all of Costa Rica's national parks have short trails that can be hiked in an hour or two, while others have routes that take the better part of a day to complete, such as the trails to the top of Barva and Rincon de le Vieja Volcanoes. There are also plenty of well marked hiking trails.

Don't hesitate to visit local restaurants and try anything they have, the local food is delicious. I once went to a typical CR family for dinner and they served beef tongue, today I'm still craving it! Try and go to as many beaches as possible while you are there.

Costa Rica has the most tropical scenery, full of life waters and cleanest beaches. A favorite of mine is in Guanacaste, Playa Conchal, an amazing tropical beach made entirely of crushed shells! You should also go diving or snorkeling in Costa Rica's beautiful Reefs. Cahuita National Park is best known for the coral reefs close to shore. The coral reefs are the most studied marine ecosystems on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Of these, the one at the Parque Nacional Cahuita has been studied longer and in greater detail. In the dry season, there is good snorkeling from the beach, and you are likely to see light yellow brain, elkhorn, and blue staghorn corals, sea fans, and gorgonians as a back drop to the more than 500 species of fish endemic to the reefs.

Don't forget to see the lakes and rivers, I suggest the Rio Grande de Tarcoles, a river full of Crocodiles, Scarlet Macaws, Jesus Christ Lizards, and over 120 species of birds. There is also San Juan River with jungle trails. And for the lakes, Lake Nicaragua, the second largest lake in Latin America, and Lake Arenal near the volcano, the largest in Costa Rica which offers all year round windsurfing, fishing, boat tours, kayaking, horseback riding & mountain biking along the shore, etc.

And don't forget to visit the capital, San Jose, to get a glimpse of city life in Costa Rica. Shopping at the amazing big Mall in Escazu will definitely add to the experience. Take your time, have an open mind and an adventurous spirit and I assure you that Costa Rica will be an amazing experience that you will talk about for years!

A Costa Rica Honeymoon is an amazing destination if you and your new husband/wife want a honeymoon with a mix of nature, adventure, romance, and beach relaxation. Costa Rica is the new hot spot in travel these days but still feels a little bit off the beaten track so it's a really great place to have a little privacy but still feel connected to the world. Deciding when to go, where to go, and what to do when you get there can be a challenge, especially since you're planning this big amazing trip in the throws of your wedding planning. Believe me, I get it! Overwhelming doesn't quite describe it at times!

With active volcanoes, beautiful beaches of white, red, and black sand, deep sea diving for all levels, jungle adventures, and pampering beyond belief a Costa Rica honeymoon is fantastically romantic and will leave you refreshed, rejuvenated, and alive! Read on for great information and ideas that will make your Costa Rica Honeymoon absolutely incredible! If you are thinking about having a Costa Rica honeymoon chances are you're the kind of couple who loves nature, isn't afraid of a little (or a lot) of adventure, and wants a honeymoon experience filled with culture, outdoor activity, and good ole pampering. You certainly aren't looking for the same old tired vacation!

Costa Rica really does have it all. It's a beautiful country with so many beautiful places to see and exciting things to do. In a one week holiday you can lounge on a white sand beach, visit an active volcano, play with monkeys in the jungle, enjoy some of the best coffee in the world, and get a luxurious massage. You can sleep beneath the trees one night and then the next day beneath some of the finest fabrics in the world. Costa Rica is a marvelous country to explore.

Start now! Things to do and Places To Go Tamarindo: The beach town of Tamarindo is considered to have one of Costa Rica's most incredible Bays on the Pacific Coast. It's a lively location that offers little secret paths offering solitude. This location has low humidity all year long and always has warm waters for swimming. Manual Antonio National Park: This park boasts three beautiful white sad beaches and is connected to a forest that is home to several Monkey species. There are many guided tours to take you through the forest safely and offer a higher chance of spotting a monkey. Another fantastic thing about this area is the vista looking over the Pacific which is beautiful at any time of the day, regardless of weather!

Arenal Volcano National Park: The time to visit is definitely at night! Nearby attractions and activities include swimming in Arenal beach, the Tabacn Resort Hot Springs, fishing, and beginner windsurfing. Sarchi and the Coffee Towns: If you're really into to art, culture and history or just LOVE coffee a trip into Sarchi would be a great experience. This area is filled with interesting and friendly people exciting to share their stories with visitors.

Irazu Volcano National Park: The last serious eruption happened in 1963, the same day John F. Kennedy arrived in Costa Rica! This powerful volcano still spits out steam and smoke, but, visiting is considered safe. The sulfur-laden water surrounded by the rugged rocky cliff face is an incredible reminder of the power of nature.

When to Visit Surfing: If you want to do some surfing the waves on the Caribbean side are fantastic from November to May. On the coast of Tamarindo, the waves are larger and faster in June and July. Great Beach Weather: If you want pleasant weather November to April is considered the warm dry period in Costa Rica. Saving Money: If saving money is important visit in later October and early May.

Where to Stay on your Costa Rica Honeymoon The Four Seasons is actually very grand and impressive in Costa Rica. It is located on Peninsula Papagayo, a backpackers haven turned 5-star getaway. With 14 miles of beaches, bluffs, and unspoiled land, along with 31 separate beaches of every color sand this is the ideal location for a romantic and secluded Costa Rica Honeymoon. The Paradisus Playa Conchal is small, cozy and very luxurious all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste along the North Pacific shore near Tamarindo Bay. This area is both the most visited and least populated parts of Costa Rica. It is known for excellent beaches and accessible diving.

Jungle Getaways are also a very fun option. You can book through a tour provider, but, if you want to be independent the popular and safe jungle accommodations include the Playa Nicuessa Rainforest Lodge and The Trapp Family Country Inn. Top Ten Travel Tips for a fabulous vacation

Traveling is such a great experience that we think that we can do this all the time.

Unfortunately, we now have very little time for travel in this fast & furious world. Most of us hardly get a few weeks per year to take vacations if we are lucky enough.

We have to make sure the trips to be the best with some amounts of humor (unlike many travel movies where there are only nightmares around each corner). We are providing you with our top 10 travel tips to make your vacations unforgettable – (of course without the nightmares).

Top 10 Travel Tips

 1. Plan early & book when a best deal fits your budget. New companies pop up everyday for more and more travel. Why? Because as the baby boomer age group gets grown-up & the parents once take their kids out of the house, they are traveling more and more. Best deals are easy to get through many sound companies that offer great & economical rates and fares.

2. Be familiar with your destination and the best times of travel. Remember the incidence of Clark Griswold in the movie "Vacation" who takes the whole family  across the country only to find out his favorite Fun Park is closed for the day? Do not let that happen to you. Try to know what is going on and when is the best time to travel. For example, most people know that March and April tend to be spring break times. Well, if you take your little ones to Panama City Florida or Cancun during these months you might end up in a large crowd.

 3. Take care of your belongings including family pet.

 4. Budget wisely. Make provisions for worst situation and carry enough resources to fall back on. If you are on a budget, be smart & enjoy doing things on a trip.

 5. Don’t forget your key documents at home. There is nothing more frustrating than this.

 6. You have to choose your place of stay smartly. If you choose to stay close to beach, market, and restaurant for any famous vacation then that will be the best.  On the other hand, it will be equally frustrating if you need to catch a train or a rent a car just to get there from the hotel. You have to make sure that everyone who is traveling with you will also have fun! Again, in Las Vegas vacation when the kids are too young to gamble, you have to come up with some creative ideas so the kids will also have a good time.

 7. Sign up for online magazine & newspapers to keep you abreast of new information about the destination of your choice.

 8. Plan it properly.  It can really cut you short on certain things like rentals and transport charges.

 9. Make a checklist and be sure to check that everything is in order before starting and during the trip. From booking to packing to check in, do not fail to remember anything and fail to consult with checklist.

 10. Have a great fun and enjoy no matter what type of vacation you are going on.

These are our top 10 travel tips and we try to abide by them each time we take a vacation. Hope you too will find your trip to be more enjoyable using these tips.
